OFD: Lightning causes small fire at Omaha apartment complex
Site is under construction; flames restricted to eaves
A small fire started after lightning struck an Omaha apartment complex near 120th and Roanoke.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha fire officials say lightning struck an apartment complex under construction Friday morning leading to a small fire.
OFD tells 6 News they responded to an apartment building near 120th and Roanoke Blvd., south of Fort Street, around 8:40 a.m.
Fire officials say lightning traveled through the dryer vent lines, igniting a small fire on the balcony eaves. The flames appeared to be isolated to the plastic exterior ends of the dryer vents on the complex’s third-floor units.
The fire was quickly extinguished and no extension was found.
