Another cool morning for the area, but lots of sunshine will mean a quick warm-up today. Temperatures will be near 80 by Noon with afternoon highs around 85 degrees.
A cool start this morning with temperatures in the 50s and some low clouds cover. Clouds should thin later this morning with partly cloudy skies for the afternoon and highs near 78.
Rounds of rain and storms with downpours and lightning moved through the area Friday morning, leaving behind a decent amount of rainfall totals across the metro ranging from around .5″ to 1″.
Sunny skies this morning as yesterday storms continue to move away. Sunshine will stick with us all day, heating things up quickly with afternoon highs in the upper 80s around the metro.
Rain chances remain at a minimum this evening, before increasing shortly after midnight tonight. You can expect off and on rain chances on Saturday with much cooler temperatures, drying out and warming up into the upper 80s on Sunday.
Although some storms passed through Thursday morning, the area is still in a severe to exceptional drought. The total rainfall amounts for May and June so far are at record-breaking lows.
Tropical Storm Bret is expected to make landfall Thursday afternoon and Thursday night across several islands in the Lesser Antilles as it tracks westward as a strong tropical storm, and is expected to weaken as it reaches the eastern Caribbean Sea.
A few downpours this morning fade away by 11am, temperatures warming into hte 80s by the lunch hour. Additional scattered storms develop by 2pm, moving out by early evening.
